With just 142 needed for a win, Royal Challengers Bangalore's Chris Gayle massacred Mumbai Indians' bowling to help his team register a solid 9-wicket win, here on Wednesday. With it, Banagalore jumped to the fourth position in the standings. While Bangalore's bowlers were nothing short of venomous to begin with, reducing a famed Mumbai batting to smithereens, Gayle was even better as he raced to his fifty off 36 balls and carried on with his innings till the nail was driven firmly through the opposition.
The Jamaican had a brief but aggressive opening partnership worth 48 with Tillkaratne Dilshan (19 off 25). Although the final margin fails to reflect it, there was a lull in the chase once Dilshan was removed by Pragyan Ojha. Dilshan's revenge though appeared that of Gayle
